PRODUCTS - Rotomax Lines for tube working

rotomaxRecognised quality and passion for innovation have allowed DBD Technology to also achieve commercial success in the tube working and the orbital processing of pipes and solids sector with the Rotomax line.

 

This is a combined unit for processing done using a head, interiors and exteriors of metal tubes and full, solid bars. The Rotomax line can process tubes in standard steel, stainless steel, steel with high levels of alloys (e.g. 100 Cr6 for bearings), cast iron, alluminium, copper and braonze. The unit is based on the concept of a rotating head on which are mounted 4 tools for processing both ends of the piece that has been cut. The tube is fixed at the centre of the rotating head, while the rotating utensils carry out the various operations. Cutting and processing done using a head are carried out on the production line to obtain a finished piece that does not require end finishing working.

Processing and fields of use

Typical Rotomax processing includes: cutting, cutting with inner/outer smoothing, cutting with double outer smoothing and inner turning.

 

The versatility of DBD Technology's Rotomax means it can also remove chips (facing, centering, boring, threading, milling, canalisation and channelling) and carry out deformation (deformation of shape at ends, tapering, pressing, marking and knurling). Rotomax has many sectors of use: rings for ball bearings, rollers for conveyor belts, pneumatic cylinders, hydraulic cylinders, car shock absorbers, axle boxes and various types of axles (subcontracting for the motor vehicle sector), processing centres and grinding of tubes, etc...

The Rotomax range (and accessories)

The Rotomax DBD line is divided into two categories:

  • Rotomax / H, specially designed for applications that do not require absolute performance but versatility, a high level of precision and reliability (the range goes from 5 - 123 mm in diameter, with thicknesses of 1 - 5 mm and lengths of 10 - 3.000 mm);
  • Rotomax / M is the top of the range, with a high level of automation. It has been designed and produced to ensure high standards of productivity, speed and precision (the range goes from 8 - 280 mm in diameter, with a thickness of 1 - 40 mm and lengths of 10 - 3.000 mm).

Every machine can be completed and personalised with a complete range of accessories (chip-breaking programme, chip ejector, CNC vertical adjustment of the height of tube centering, a programme to monitor wear and tear/breakage of equipment, production data collection and a programme to automatically control the cutting speed).

 

The Rotomax line also has a metal bar loader. The discharge system for cut and processed pieces can be standard or personalised (the DBD Technology planning office is on hand to study the best solutions for clients).
